Hift: Cookie Policy

Last updated: May, 2026

This Cookie Policy explains which cookies and similar technologies Hift uses on hift.io, the Hift app at hift.app, and any Hift websites that redirect to them (such as hift.eu and hift.markets), and how you can control them. Hift uses only the cookies it needs to work, unless you choose to allow more.

The Service is operated by [Company legal name], registered in [country] under number [registration number], with its registered address at [address] ("Hift", "we", "us" or "our"). For how we handle personal data more generally, see our Privacy Policy.

  1. What Cookies Are

Cookies are small text files that a website saves on your device when you visit it. They let the site remember things, such as that you are signed in or which cookie choices you made.

Similar technologies, such as your browser's local storage, work in much the same way. In this policy, "cookies" covers both.

  1. How Hift Uses Cookies

We use two kinds of cookies:

Necessary cookies, which the Service cannot work without. We use these without asking, because the law allows it.

Optional cookies, for preferences, analytics and marketing. We use these only if you agree, and they stay off until you do.

Necessary cookies are allowed under EU privacy rules without consent because they are strictly needed to provide the service you asked for. For optional cookies, our legal basis is your consent, which you can withdraw at any time.

When you first visit Hift, a banner lets you accept all cookies, reject all optional cookies, or choose category by category. Rejecting is as easy as accepting, and rejecting optional cookies does not stop you from using Hift.

Because hift.io and hift.app are separate websites, you may be asked for your cookie choices on each one.

  1. The Cookies We Use

Necessary cookies (always on)

Sign-in session (sb-[project]-auth-token, stored in local storage). Keeps you signed in to your Hift account and protects your session. Set by Hift, using Supabase. Lasts until you sign out or your session expires.

Cookie choices ([cookie banner name]). Remembers which cookies you accepted or rejected, so we don't ask on every visit. Set by Hift. Lasts [12 months].

Payment fraud prevention (__stripe_mid and __stripe_sid). Set on payment pages when you buy credits or a plan, to detect and prevent fraudulent payments. Set by Stripe. __stripe_mid lasts 1 year and __stripe_sid lasts 30 minutes.

Preference cookies (only with your consent)

Language ([cookie name]). Remembers your language choice. Set by Hift. Lasts [12 months].

Analytics cookies (only with your consent)

[Analytics provider] ([cookie names]). Shows us which pages people visit and how they use the site, so we can fix problems and improve Hift. Set by [provider]. Lasts [duration].

Marketing cookies (only with your consent)

[Advertising platform] ([cookie names]). Measures our ad campaigns and shows Hift ads on other websites. Set by [provider]. Lasts [duration].

  1. Third-Party Cookies

Some cookies are set by other companies whose services we use, such as Stripe for payments. These companies may use the information under their own privacy and cookie policies, which we recommend you read. You can manage Stripe's cookies through Stripe's own cookie settings.

Some of these providers may process information outside the European Economic Area. Where they do, we rely on safeguards recognised under EU law, such as the European Commission's standard contractual clauses or the EU-US Data Privacy Framework. Our Privacy Policy explains this in more detail.

  1. Managing Your Choices

You can change your cookie choices at any time by clicking Cookie Settings at the bottom of any page. If you withdraw consent, we stop using those cookies from then on.

We ask for your choices again after [12 months], or sooner if we start using new types of cookies.

You can also block or delete cookies in your browser settings. If you block necessary cookies, parts of Hift, such as signing in and buying credits, will not work.

  1. Your Rights

Where cookies collect personal data, you have the rights described in our Privacy Policy. These include the right to access or delete your data, to object to how it is used, and to complain to a data protection authority.

  1. Changes to this Policy

We will update this policy when we add, remove or change the cookies we use. The "Last updated" date at the top shows when it last changed. If a change needs your consent, we will ask for it through the cookie banner.

  1. Contact

Questions about cookies can be sent to privacy@hift.io, or by post to [Company legal name], [registered address].
