Hift: Terms of Service

Last updated: May, 2026

  1. About these Terms

1.1 These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the Hift website at hift.io, the Hift app at hift.app, any Hift websites that redirect to them (such as hift.eu and hift.markets) and all related services (together, the "Service").

1.2 The Service is provided by [Company legal name], a company registered in [country] under registration number [number], with its registered address at [address] and VAT number [VAT number] ("Hift", "we", "us" or "our").

1.3 By creating an account, buying credits or a monthly plan, or using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

1.4 Our Financial Disclaimer and Risk Disclosure form part of these Terms. Our Privacy Policy and Cookie Policy explain how we handle personal data.

1.5 Some sections apply differently depending on whether you use the Service as a consumer (for purposes outside your trade, business or profession) or as a business user. Where a section applies to only one group, it says so. Nothing in these Terms limits the rights you have as a consumer under mandatory law.

  1. The Service

2.1 Hift is an AI-powered financial research tool. You choose a research type or ask a question, spend credits, and receive research generated by artificial intelligence, such as answers, reports, analysis, signals and forecasts ("Outputs").

2.2 When you use Hift, you are interacting with an AI system, not a human analyst. Outputs are generated automatically and are not reviewed by a person before you receive them. They may be inaccurate, incomplete or out of date.

2.3 Hift is not a bank, investment firm, broker, exchange, gambling operator or financial adviser. The Service provides general information and analysis only. It does not provide financial, investment or betting advice or personal recommendations. Our Financial Disclaimer and Risk Disclosure explain this in full.

2.4 The Service does not let you buy, sell, trade or hold any asset, or place a bet or take a position in any market. We never hold your money or assets. The only payments you make to us are for credits, monthly plans and add-ons.

2.5 The Service can research stocks, ETFs, crypto assets, other financial assets and themes, and prediction markets. Prediction market research describes markets run by third-party platforms. Hift is not affiliated with, endorsed by or paid by any prediction market platform, and it does not offer, arrange or promote trading on them.

2.6 Some features, including prediction market research, may not be available in every country. We may limit or switch off features where we believe they cannot be lawfully provided, and we may use your approximate location, based on your IP address, to do this.

  1. Eligibility and Accounts

3.1 You must be at least 18 years old and able to enter into a binding contract to use the Service.

3.2 If you use the Service on behalf of a company or other organisation, you confirm that you are authorised to accept these Terms on its behalf, and "you" includes that organisation.

3.3 You must give accurate information when you create an account and keep it up to date.

3.4 Your account is for you only. Do not share your login details or let anyone else use your account.

3.5 You are responsible for activity on your account. Tell us promptly at support@hift.io if you think someone has accessed it without your permission.

3.6 You must not use the Service if you are subject to EU or UN sanctions, if you are located in or ordinarily resident in a country or region subject to comprehensive sanctions, or if using it would break the law where you are.

3.7 You must not use a VPN, false information or any other method to get around age, country or feature restrictions.

  1. Credits, Monthly Plans, Pricing and Payment

4.1 Research on Hift is paid for with credits. You can buy credit packs, or subscribe to a monthly plan that adds credits to your account every month. Current packs, plans and add-ons are shown on our Pricing page.

4.2 The credit cost of a research request depends on its type, scope and depth, for example Quick Research or Deep Research. The cost is shown before you submit a request, and credits are deducted when the request is processed.

4.3 If a request fails because of a fault on our side and no Output is delivered, the credits used are returned to your account. If an Output is delivered but is clearly incomplete because of a fault on our side, you can ask us to return the credits within [14] days by contacting support@hift.io.

4.4 Prices are shown in euros. Prices for consumers include VAT. Prices for business users may be shown without VAT, which is added as the law requires.

4.5 Payments are processed by our payment provider, Stripe. We do not see or store your full card details.

4.6 Credits from a credit pack are valid for [12 months] from the date of purchase and expire after that. We will remind you by email [30 days] before any of them expire.

4.7 Credits have no cash value. They cannot be transferred, sold or exchanged for money, except for the refunds described in these Terms. Credits are not money, electronic money, a financial instrument or an investment.

4.8 We may change credit prices or the credit cost of research types. Price changes do not affect credits you have already bought. If a change means your existing credits buy less research, we will tell you at least 30 days in advance, and you may ask for a refund of your unused paid credits before the change takes effect.

4.9 Free or promotional credits may have a shorter validity period, which we will tell you when you receive them. They are not refundable.

4.10 A monthly plan adds a set number of credits to your account at the start of each billing month. The plan's price, the credits it includes and its renewal date are shown before you subscribe.

4.11 Monthly plans renew automatically every month on the same date, and we charge your payment method at each renewal until you cancel. We send you a receipt for every payment.

4.12 Plan credits you do not use in a billing month [carry over to the next billing month, and expire if still unused at the end of it], unless you have the Credit Rollover add-on described in Section 4.17. Plan credits are always used before credits from a credit pack, which follow Section 4.6.

4.13 You can cancel a monthly plan at any time in your account settings, as easily as you subscribed. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing month. Until then you keep your plan and its credits, and you will not be charged again. We do not refund part of a month already paid for, except under Section 5 or where the law requires it.

4.14 If you upgrade, the new plan starts straight away and we charge the difference for the rest of the billing month. If you downgrade, the change takes effect from your next billing month.

4.15 We may change the price of a monthly plan or add-on. We will email you at least 30 days before a new price applies to you, and you can cancel before then if you do not want to continue.

4.16 If a payment fails, we will tell you and may try again. Until the payment succeeds, we may pause the credits your plan adds.

4.17 Credit Rollover add-on. If you add Credit Rollover to a monthly plan, for [€19.99] per month, unused plan credits stay in your account for up to [3 months] from the month they were added, instead of the period in Section 4.12. Credit Rollover renews and can be cancelled in the same way as your plan. If you cancel it, credits that are already older than the period in Section 4.12 expire at the end of the current billing month.

  1. Right of Withdrawal and Refunds

5.1 This section applies to consumers. As a consumer in the EU, you can withdraw from a credit purchase within 14 days of buying, without giving a reason.

5.2 When you buy credits, you can ask us to make them available straight away. If you do, you agree that we start providing the Service during the 14-day withdrawal period, and you acknowledge that you lose the right of withdrawal for credits once you have used them, because the research they paid for has been fully delivered. You keep the right of withdrawal for any credits you have not used.

5.3 To withdraw, use the "Withdraw from the contract here" function on your [Billing] page, or send us a clear statement by email to support@hift.io within the 14-day period. You can use the model withdrawal form at [link], but you do not have to. We will confirm receipt without delay.

5.4 If you withdraw, we will refund the price you paid for unused credits within 14 days of receiving your withdrawal, using the same payment method unless you agree otherwise. There is no fee for the refund.

5.5 If you subscribe to a monthly plan or add-on, you can withdraw within 14 days of your first payment in the same way. We will refund that payment, minus the value of any plan credits you have already used.

5.6 Separately from the right of withdrawal, if the Service does not work as described in these Terms, you have the remedies that consumer law gives you, which may include having the problem fixed, a price reduction or a refund.

5.7 Business users do not have a statutory right of withdrawal. Credits bought by business users are non-refundable, except where these Terms say otherwise or the law requires it.

  1. Acceptable Use

6.1 You must not:

use the Service in a way that breaks any law or regulation;

use the Service or Outputs to manipulate markets or the odds of any prediction market, spread false or misleading information about any asset or event, or promote schemes such as pump-and-dump schemes;

enter inside information or other confidential information you are not allowed to share, such as non-public information about a company, a transaction or the outcome of an event;

present Outputs to others as investment or betting advice from Hift, or as facts we have verified;

use the Service to provide regulated financial or gambling services to others unless you hold the licences the law requires;

copy, scrape, crawl or extract data from the Service, or access it with bots, scripts or other automated means, unless we have agreed in writing;

resell or sublicense the Service or Outputs, offer them as part of a competing product, or use Outputs to train or improve another AI model;

try to get around credit limits, pricing, security measures, usage controls or country restrictions;

try to make the AI produce harmful, illegal or misleading content, or reveal its instructions or other users' data, for example through prompt injection;

reverse engineer, decompile or try to extract the source code or models behind the Service, except where the law allows it;

upload malware or anything that could damage, overload or interfere with the Service;

enter personal data about other people unless you have the right to do so;

impersonate anyone, including Hift, or misrepresent your connection with any person or organisation.

6.2 We may investigate suspected breaches of this section, take the steps described in Section 14, and report suspected market abuse or other unlawful activity to the relevant authorities where the law requires it.

  1. Your Inputs and Research Outputs

7.1 "Inputs" means the questions, text, files and other content you submit to the Service. You keep any rights you have in your Inputs.

7.2 You give us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to use your Inputs only as needed to provide, maintain, secure and improve the Service. We do not use your Inputs or Outputs to train AI models. Our Privacy Policy explains how we handle any personal data in your Inputs.

7.3 You are responsible for your Inputs. Do not submit content you have no right to share, and do not enter more personal or financial information than your question needs.

7.4 You may use Outputs for your own personal or internal business purposes, including saving, printing and quoting them. If you share extracts with others, make clear that they were generated by Hift and are not investment or betting advice.

7.5 Outputs are generated automatically. Similar or identical Outputs may be generated for other users, and we do not guarantee that any Output is unique or protected by copyright.

7.6 Outputs may refer to or summarise third-party content, such as news articles, company reports, market data or prediction market rules and prices. That content belongs to its owners, and your use of it is subject to their rights.

7.7 You must not publish Outputs in bulk, or in a way that replaces the Service for others, without our written permission.

  1. Our Intellectual Property

8.1 The Service, including its software, design, text, graphics, the Hift name and logo, and the way Outputs are structured and presented, is owned by us or our licensors and is protected by intellectual property law.

8.2 We give you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable and revocable right to use the Service for its intended purpose, in line with these Terms. We grant you no other rights.

8.3 If you send us feedback or suggestions, we may use them freely without any obligation to you.

  1. Availability and Changes to the Service

9.1 We aim to keep the Service available and working well, but we do not guarantee that it will be uninterrupted, error-free or available at any particular time. We may need to pause it for maintenance, updates or reasons outside our control.

9.2 We may change, add or remove features, research types, data sources or the AI models the Service uses. If a change has more than a minor negative effect on your use of the Service, we will tell you in advance. You can then end your agreement with us and receive a refund of your unused paid credits within 30 days of the change.

9.3 Some features may be offered as beta or preview features. They may be less reliable and may change or be withdrawn at any time.

  1. Third-Party Services and Content

10.1 The Service relies on third-party providers, including Anthropic, which provides the Claude AI models Hift runs on, as well as data and news providers, hosting providers and our payment provider. We choose them carefully, but we are not responsible for their own services except as these Terms or the law require.

10.2 The Service may contain links to, or mention, third-party websites and platforms, including exchanges, brokers and prediction market platforms. We do not control them and are not responsible for them, and a link or mention does not mean we endorse them.

10.3 Market data, prices, odds, news and other third-party information may be delayed, incomplete or inaccurate. We do not guarantee its accuracy.

  1. No Advice and Service Quality

11.1 Outputs are general information and analysis only. They are not financial, investment, betting or other professional advice, not a personal recommendation, and not an offer or solicitation to buy or sell any asset or to take part in any prediction market. Signals and forecasts are AI-generated opinions, not guarantees. You are responsible for your own decisions. See our Financial Disclaimer and Risk Disclosure.

11.2 Because Outputs are generated by AI, we do not promise that any Output will be accurate, complete, current or suitable for your purposes. Check important information against primary sources before relying on it.

11.3 For consumers, the Service must still match its description in these Terms and work as the law requires. If it does not, you have the rights that mandatory consumer law gives you, and nothing in these Terms removes them.

11.4 For business users, and to the extent the law allows, the Service is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express or implied.

  1. Limitation of Liability

12.1 Nothing in these Terms limits or excludes our liability for intentional breach, gross negligence, fraud, death or personal injury caused by our negligence, or any other liability that cannot be limited or excluded by law.

12.2 Subject to Section 12.1, we are not liable for:

investment, trading, betting or other financial losses, lost profits or missed opportunities resulting from decisions you make using Outputs;

losses caused by your breach of these Terms;

losses caused by events outside our reasonable control.

12.3 For consumers, we are responsible for foreseeable loss caused by our breach of these Terms. We are not responsible for loss that was not foreseeable when you accepted these Terms.

12.4 For business users, subject to Section 12.1, we are not liable for any indirect or consequential loss, or for loss of profit, revenue, data or goodwill, and our total liability arising out of or in connection with these Terms is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the event giving rise to the claim.

  1. Indemnity (Business Users)

13.1 If you use the Service as a business user, you will compensate us for reasonable losses, costs and expenses, including reasonable legal fees, arising from third-party claims caused by your breach of these Terms or your misuse of the Service or Outputs.

13.2 This section does not apply to consumers.

  1. Suspension and Termination

14.1 You can stop using the Service at any time and close your account in your account settings or by emailing support@hift.io.

14.2 If you close your account, your monthly plan and any add-ons end and any unused credits are cancelled. Before closing it, we will tell you if you still have unused paid credits. This does not affect your right of withdrawal under Section 5 or any refund you are entitled to by law.

14.3 We may suspend or close your account, or restrict your access to the Service, if:

you seriously or repeatedly breach these Terms;

we reasonably believe your use is unlawful, fraudulent or harmful to the Service, other users or third parties; or

the law or a competent authority requires us to.

14.4 Where reasonable, we will warn you first and give you a chance to fix the problem. We will tell you the reason for our decision unless the law prevents us.

14.5 If we close your account because you breached these Terms, unused credits are cancelled without refund, to the extent the law allows. If we close your account or stop offering the Service for any other reason, we will refund your unused paid credits.

14.6 Sections 7, 8, 11, 12, 13, 16 and 17, and any other sections that by their nature should continue, still apply after your account is closed.

  1. Changes to these Terms

15.1 We may update these Terms to reflect changes to the Service, the law or our business.

15.2 If a change is significant and affects you negatively, we will tell you by email or in the Service at least 30 days before it takes effect. If you do not agree, you can close your account before the change takes effect and we will refund your unused paid credits.

15.3 Other changes take effect when we publish them. The "Last updated" date at the top shows when these Terms last changed. If you keep using the Service after a change takes effect, the updated Terms apply to you.

  1. Complaints and Disputes

16.1 If you have a complaint, contact us at support@hift.io. We aim to reply within [14] days.

16.2 If you are a consumer and we cannot resolve your complaint, you can refer it to [name of consumer dispute body] in [country]. If you live in another EU country, the European Consumer Centre in your country can help you.

16.3 You can also bring your claim to court, as set out in Section 17.

  1. Governing Law and Courts

17.1 These Terms are governed by the laws of [country].

17.2 If you are a consumer, you also keep the protection of the mandatory consumer laws of the country where you live, and you can bring a claim in the courts of that country or in [country].

17.3 If you are a business user, any dispute arising out of or in connection with these Terms will be settled by the competent court in [city, country].

  1. General

18.1 These Terms, together with the documents they refer to, are the whole agreement between you and us about the Service.

18.2 If any part of these Terms is found invalid or unenforceable, the rest stays in effect.

18.3 If we do not enforce a right straight away, we can still enforce it later.

18.4 You may not transfer your rights or obligations under these Terms to anyone else without our consent. We may transfer ours to another company, for example if Hift is sold or reorganised, as long as this does not reduce your rights as a consumer.

18.5 We are not responsible for delays or failures caused by events outside our reasonable control.

18.6 These Terms are written in English. If we provide them in another language, the English version prevails to the extent the law allows.

18.7 We may contact you by email at the address linked to your account, or through the Service. We only send email from addresses ending in @hift.io. Legal notices to us should be sent to legal@hift.io.

18.8 No one other than you and us has any right to enforce these Terms.
